Following Gov. Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order and guidelines published by the University of Michigan, The Michigan Engineering Zone is currently closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All summer programs (including the NAF Future Ready Scholars program and the Thinkabit Lab Qcamps) will still be offered through online, virtual platforms. Our staff is working remotely, so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
Students, you can help design the future! NAF Future Ready Scholars at the University of Michigan will spend two weeks this summer engaging in the Engineering Design Process to solve problems that matter to them. With guidance from instructors and U-M engineering students, scholars will have the opportunity to learn about various technology tools (such as robotics, 3D printing, and website design) and use them to invent and prototype brighter, healthier, and more just futures. Additionally, they will participate in college and career readiness sessions that will put them on a path toward post-secondary success, through PSAT/SAT prep, career exploration, and job shadowing opportunities. Programming will continue during monthly Saturday Sessions at the Michigan Engineering Zone (MEZ) in Detroit, providing local and ongoing opportunities for college and career awareness, exploration, and preparation throughout their high school years.
