Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ Tech for Good Camp is a one-week STEM camp for girls and boys entering middle school and high school, which provides hands-on engineering project experience through Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab at the Michigan Engineering Zone in Midtown Detroit.
Campers will learn new skills while strengthening their scientific and mathematical understanding through hands-on engineering projects. You will have the opportunity to meet professional engineers, learn about engineering tools and their applications, explore the engineering design process, build your own projects, and meet new friends!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Current 6th – 8th graders (by the time of camp this summer, students will be incoming 7th – 9th graders) may apply.
WHEN?
In-Person Camp (at Michigan Engineering Zone in Detroit): Monday, August 7, 2023 – Friday, August 11, 2023
Virtual Camp (on Zoom): Monday, August 21, 2023 – Friday, August 25, 2023
WHAT WILL THE CAMP FOCUS ON?
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math projects…and loads of FUN!
COST?
Tech for Good Camp is completely funded by Qualcomm so there is no cost to parents! All necessary technology will be provided to ensure that participants have access to the virtual camp experience.
WHERE?
We are currently planning programming options both virtually and in-person. More details will be released over the course of the coming months if the situation evolves.
In-person camp will take place at the MEZ, located at 3663 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201.
Virtual camp will take place over Zoom.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF CAMPERS?
As a camper, you will be expected to arrive/log on promptly, participate in all activities, be fully engaged, be open to new experiences, have a positive attitude, work in teams, play and have fun!
